Grow your own pumpkins! Plants are supplied in an 8cm cardboard fibre pot. Collection from May – we will contact you when your seedlings are ready for collection. In the event of any crop failures we will offer the nearest alternative product or a full refund.
These plants are tender, so only plant them out once all risk of frost is past and soil is warm – early June is best, keep in a greenhouse / a sunny south facing windowsill and pot up if needed in the meantime.
Indoor-raised plants must be hardened off (acclimatised to outdoor conditions) before planting outside in June. Do this by moving young plants into a coldframe for a week. If you don’t have a coldframe, move them outdoors during the day, then bring them in at night for a week. Then the following week, leave them out in a sheltered spot all day and night.
Select your variety from the drop down list. We have the following varieties available:
The standard variety to grow for Halloween, which reliably produces a large crop of uniform and symmetrical rich orange pumpkins with a thick flesh ideal for carving. Each pumpkin reaches up to 15 to 20 pounds and features a very thick, strong vine to provide a nice handle-like stem to hold onto while carving the pumpkins.
Pumpkin Jack Be Little
A unique truly miniature pumpkin variety producing tiny 4 inch orange fruits, with about 20 fruits per vine. Kids love these, and I do too – my house is always filled with them for autumn decor!
